Have you ever wondered what it’s like to stay in a capsule hotel in Tokyo? Well, wonder no longer. Beauty YouTuber Kim Dao just stayed in one of Akihabara’s top-rated female-only capsule hotels with her friend Emma and recorded the whole experience. Kim Dao uploaded this video under the title “Capsule Hotel in Akihabara JAPAN | $100 in 1 Day in Tokyo.” Besides showing you around the hotel, she also shows viewers just how much you can buy in Akihabara for only 10,000円 (or around 100 USD).
First, Kim Dao shows viewers around the Akihabara Bay Hotel. She spends 3,800円 for one night at the hotel, so she only has 6,200円left when she leaves to explore Akihabara.
Kim Dao gets her locker number and checks out the toiletries and free amenities inside there. After taking a look at her amenities, she shows viewers what the capsule actually looks like. There are light controls and even a phone charger inside her capsule.
A few moments later, Kim Dao heads downstairs and takes us to the shower rooms and sink area of the hotel. She also shows the washers and dryers you can use for a small fee.
Once she’s done exploring all around the hotel, Kim Dao goes out with Emma for lunch. She spends 650円 on a hot dog, which leaves her with 5550円.
Kim Dao then explores the retro game, cos play, and Pokémon stores in Akihabara and makes a few purchases. She later purchases a Magikarp Taiyaki and a water and has 1036円left. For dinner, Kim orders 50 chicken nuggets from McDonald’s and tries to eat them all with her friend. This leaves her with only 36円left.
At the end of the video, Kim Dao mentions that this capsule hotel also has locations in the cities of Nihonbashi, Ginza, Nihonbashi-Muromachi, and Tamachi.
